The Pac-10 was considering both the Baylor Bears and Colorado but preferred the Buffaloes because of the Denver market. It’s a good move for Colorado given that it looks more and more likely that the Big 12 will dissolve. Geographically it gives Colorado the best conference to join with the West Coast just a hop skip and jump away.

Colorado had struggled in recent seasons in both basketball and football in the Big 12, so the move could also serve to improve their performances. Time will tell with the start of football just a couple of months away.
